This is the main dinning room of Tavern on the Green in Central Park. Or, at least, it used to be. Tavern closed last New Years and was re-opening last spring, but all of the decor was removed and sold at auction. It’s a sad tale of the economic downturn and overspending, but the upshot is that New York lost one of it’s unique restaurants. I know someone who’ll really be missing the lobster bisque here pretty soon.
